Nourish Our Tree: Heidelberg Week 9

June 13, 2016

Hello,

Yeah, it really has been a while since that trip, I have a few pictures from it over here.
Success, another school year done! Emily will be a senior when I get home and Austin working on high school, wow! I'm pretty sure that you get an email to when my release date for sure is. I can ask President in my next interview.

This week over here for me. We spent a lot of time on the street talking to people and enjoyed that. Today I bought sunscreen :)
On Tuesday for zone-training I was able to translate for the senior couples, which was a lot of fun.

In thinking about the message that we have I thought about these verses of scripture this week.
37 And behold, as the tree beginneth to grow, ye will say: Let us nourish it with great care, that it may get root, that it may grow up, and bring forth fruit unto us. And now behold, if ye nourish it with much care it will get root, and grow up, and bring forth fruit.
38 But if ye neglect the tree, and take no thought for its nourishment, behold it will not get any root; and when the heat of the sun cometh and scorcheth it, because it hath no root it withers away, and ye pluck it up and cast it out.

I think about how we need to continually nourish our tree of faith through important habits of prayer, scripture study, church attendance and service (done with real intent, with the heart). As well as how our success as missionaries does not depend on our message. The message is good, it is a good seed, we need to do our best to plant it, water it and nourish it well, and the 'ground' the people with whom we share, needs to choose to accept the message. The sun will scorch all of us, we will all have struggles whether we [are] members, people looking into the church or just anyone. When Jesus Christ says in the sermon on the mount that God lets the sun rise on the wicked and the righteous, that includes the scorching sun and the sun full of blessings.

Have a great week!
Hayden

I think Hayden is nourish a different "tree" in this picture.
