Hello!
Lots of fun with rugby
and formal, thanks for the good pictures too. Continuing to spoil our
missionaries at home, well done. Is Elder Mann being transferred now or will he
be spending half of his mission at our home? :)
I´m glad that stake [ward]
conferences are going well.
This week we went to 2
baptisms, both for our ward, so that was exciting. One was for a really nice
woman from China. Her friend in the ward invited her to learn about the church
and she read the Book of Mormon and was baptized about 2 weeks later. She and
the Chinese members in the ward brought about 25 friends and we´ll be teaching
some of them soon, the Yi Family. It was so cool to see how the ward members
excitedly reached out to their friends to share their joy for the gospel.
Other things going on.
In finding people to teach this week (we found 6 people who are interested and
traded info, have some lessons planned for the coming week), we´ve been
visiting less active church members, walking to different people’s homes and
talking with people on the street on the way. We found one man at home and had
a really cool experience with him. It wasn´t a good time and his girlfriend was
sick, he seemed mildly frustrated that we were just stopping by without an
appointment. We asked if we could simply share a message at the door and he
said that would be ok. Elder Taylor turned and whispered the word
"prayer" to me, at which point my first though was 3
Nephi 18:15-20. We shared the words of Jesus Christ to the Nephites
speaking of God´s love, the power of prayer, and testifying that he answers us.
The man´s attitude changed and we had a nice talk there on his doorstep,
closing with a prayer. Afterwards Elder Taylor told me that he had also thought
of 3 Nephi 18. Comp unity.
That was fun, we also both
spoke at church on Sunday. Talks written on a notecard, I love it. We talked
about the Book of Mormon, I shared experiences primarily from before my mission
and Elder Taylor shared some good things from his past 19 months. I couldn´t
help but think of Alma and Amulek from the Book of Mormon as I sat down and
Elder Taylor strengthened my words and shared some of his own. It´s such a privilege
to be able to testify of Christ each day and to help give others the tools to
build a relationship with Him. Prayer and scripture study, done with a sincere
heart and the Holy Ghost as your guide, are truly the foundation.
Have a great week, I
love you!
