Opposition? Prays, answered: Heidelberg Week 5

May 15, 2016

Mom and Dad!

Hi, Happy P-Day!
Nope, I have not adjusted to the weather yet, it just adjusted back to me and it's chilly again :) Glad to hear that all is well on the home front, enjoying the temple and the calm of post AP testing.

For me this week had a lot of ups and downs, a lot of hard things but lots of obvious miracles as well. Opposition.
For example, We had a lesson scheduled with Mr V which was first pushed back two hours, then fell out and we felt like we had wasted so much time driving to and from places, then we got out of the street car at the planned place where we were going to meet Mr V and I made eye contact with another man from Nigeria, Mr D. We talked to him about his story and his faith and we walked to church together from there. He met the missionaries and was getting to know the church a little bit in Italy before he was transferred to Germany. He had been praying and fasting on the day that we met for guidance from the Lord and had felt prompted to come to the place where we found each other. Prays, answered.

On another day, we had another lesson fall out and didn't know what to do with our time so we went public transportation chatting, on the way we realized that we were near a friend with whom we haven't had contact for more than a month, he doesn't answer his phone and isn't home when we come by, I had kind of given up on visiting and trying there, thinking that he was no longer interested, but we arrived and he was home, excited to see us, and we set up an appointment together. Last night Elder Clemente and I had had a long day after 3 fallen out appointments and crazy changes to plans. Tiredness. Usually I really enjoy chatting with people on the street but no one wanted to talk and Elder Clemente and I were both a bit bummed, we endured and sacrificed more time than what we had planned and met Mr A, a man from Mexico studying to be a doctor here. We're meeting this week. Also, our apartment heater isn't working, nor is our water heater. Cold showers after running are refreshing!

Life is good, it was really a week full of miracles, answered prayers, and fun.
Love you!
Un abrazo!

Hayden
