Atonement Heals: Frankfurt Week 12

February 29, 2016

Hello Family!

Spanish is still going well, I tend to get at least one opportunity a week to use the little bit of Spanish that I know. The class/program however, was only one week. 8 Missionaries took part in the program.

Emily´s German student! You´ll have to have her email me, tell her to test out my German or something. Is the partnership program still with the same school? I love it, that will be so much fun.

Don´t worry, I´ll send you some of the rain we´re getting here haha. That was really different, especially at the beginning of my mission, how much it rains here.

So weird to hear about my age group getting home. Say hi :)

Other things this week..

I went to Mission leadership conference, 3 District meetings and a baptism this week. It's a good thing that I really like meetings and that the spirit comes too.
Elder Taylor and I are staying together, he only has 2 more transfers left.

We meet with Mr V again this week. He's in the publishing process for his book so he's pretty busy, but he made time for God. We met with our friend Mr J as well and talked a lot about the purpose of life and why there are so many challenges and trials in life. He asked why God didn't just create us perfect. Why is it necessary that we suffer and struggle? After thinking about this question for a while I came to the conclusion that God actually did create us perfectly. We're just not finished yet. He created us and a perfect plan so that we could come back to live with him some day. Through this plan, we are still in the process of being created. We are being refined 1 Nephi 20:10. For, behold, I have refined thee, I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.
Life is hard, I have seen that so much on my mission. I have spoken with and felt with so many people who go through so much. Thankfully, (D&C 121:7-8) "thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment;
8 And then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy foes."
The atonement of Jesus Christ heals and strengthens us and makes God's plan possible.

Have a great week, I love you,
Hayden
